- Crash Test Note: The RAV4 is oriented towards those seeking a sport utility that can be taken off road and still return some respectable gas mileage and be parallel parked in one parking space. EXTERIOR: Fit and finish is outstanding, the lower body cladding does very well at protecting the vehicle from chips and scratches from stones and debris when off roading and the infamous "parking lot rash" when taking the more mundane trip to the grocery store. This vehicle has a minimum clearance of 7.5 inches, with skid plates protecting the more sensitive areas exposed to such unfriendly items like rocks and broken asphalt. This gives one the confidence to tackle obstacles normally better left unchallenged. INSIDE: The interior is well laid out with controls in logical, easy to reach locations. Abundant sound insulation throughout the cabin isolates road noise much more than one would expect from a sport utility.
